Worship at Mercy Seat--in fact, Mercy Seat itself--is a community
endeavor, and we want it to feel this way for everyone involved, from
those of us who attend regularly, to the pastors, to those visiting for
the first time. We want everyone to feel at home worshiping with us, and
part of that is having an organized, relaxed, and welcoming atmosphere.
Each week, a team of worship assistants (a.k.a. ushers) takes on a few
basic tasks to help make this happen:
1. Welcoming people to worship and handing out bulletins
2. Doing the scripture reading
3. Collecting the offering
4. Helping serve communion
5. Helping with after-church clean-up
6. Helping count the offering
We have a great group of people serving as ushers so far, and we are
always looking for more people to join up. If you've been worshiping at
Mercy Seat for awhile and would like to get more involved, please consider
helping out in this way. If you're new to the community and are looking
for a way to get to know more people, we'd love to have you join us. You
won't be asked to commit more time than you can handle--a Sunday a month
would be great--and there will always be someone working with you.

and they'll be happy to pass your name along. Thanks!
