Sunday, October 9th, the governing body of Mercy Seat Lutheran Church, the Committee of the Future, made the hard decision to end the official ministry and institution of Mercy Seat Lutheran Church by the end of 2016. This decision was made in Mercy Seat constitutional tradition by consensus of the 21 community members that were in attendance.
At Mercy Seat, we are a community that welcomes you, in all the ways that you define yourself. We welcome people of all races, cultures and origins, all sexual orientations and gender identities, all abilities and ages, and all economic statuses and occupations. We affirm these and all the other ways we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Spooktober 16th (October 16th for you muggles) the World’s Laziest Spooky Book Club will be discussing Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury after church. It’s classified as adolescent fiction but don’t let that fool you. Also, it might look a little long, but like a lot of Bradbury’s other work it will move quickly. The Munson’s are hosting this spooktacular event. All are welcome whether you’ve read the book or not.
